Willie Nelson, Allison Krauss, and Jason Isbell recently came through town so obviously I tried my hardest to get a time set to meet with Jason Isbell and his band. Turns out the show got cancelled but Sadler Vaden (guitar) messaged me and said "We still want to meet up!" So I headed to their hotel with the demo board to make sweet melody and aggravate the guests in the rooms neighboring to theirs. Jason and Sadler went to Shred-Island and made the Mayflower and Iron Horse sing like no other. We went out for BBQ and while we were out, they got the news that they booked the Bricktown Live venue in downtown OKC to replace thier cancelled Willie show. Victory! We went that night and heard some sweet Walrus sounds but above all, heard some amazing songs from Jason and the band. Those songs have brought them some well deserved attention in 2014.
