The Fundamental Drive is simply perfect. It’s fundamental only in the sense that water is fundamental to survive. I bet (and know) that there are worse drive pedals on the market that go for three times the price.
I love the pedal so much, that I’ve completely reconsidered my position on dirt pedals, which so far have never really worked for me. I’m not a huge pedal guy, because they tend to get in the way between me and my guitar. Not so with this pedal. Everything just feels very organic.
As for the features: I’ve seen some people complain online, that Walrus doesn’t tell you „which circuit this is based on”. I know that this is a big fad in the pedal community, but in the case of this pedal is just an irrelevant question. You can change between three clipping modes and get more or less any sound that you want. Not a technical expert here, but as far as I understand it, the clipping is what makes the difference between different drives.
One more thing: I know that the enclosure is kept simple for budget reason, but it just looks and feels really beautiful (I don’t know why, but I’m reminded of some sort of control you would see on a bridge in Battle Star Galactica (OS) :D)
The three faders also make you wonder why this isn’t the industry standard instead of knobs. Just perfect.
Hey Gabriel! Thanks for picking up a Drive! Glad the faders are working well for you and you are enjoying the programs. Keep on jamming! - Walrus Audio
