On Thursday, November 17th, The guys from Norma Jean and My Epic stopped by the shop before their sold out show at 89th St. Collective with Silent Planet and For Today. We had the pleasure of sharing some beers and coffee while giving them a tour of the new Walrus HQ and of course, twisting some knobs on a bunch of pedals. This was a treat for us, especially me (Tyler) as I have been following Norma Jean from the beginning.
We had an old Carvin head and the double cutaway Tele setup and ready to go for the guys. Favorites on the board included the 385 Overdrive and Descent Reverb. Philly, guitarist for Norma Jean, almost floated away from all the ambient goodness he was creating through the shimmer function on the Descent.
It was a truly a great time chatting with the dudes about tour and gear and getting to introduce them to new pedals. The show was packed, sweaty and br00tal. This is also For Today's farewell tour so if you're a fan, make sure you catch this tour before it wraps up!
